Ted will chronicle his descent from upstanding if hapless young non-sailor to the watercraft-addled bilge-roach he is today.  Delving into such risky behaviors as talking his way into R2AKing a 17 foot sloop just a few months after learning to sail, meeting older male strangers online in order to “get offshore,” and forgetting how very very bad Seventy48 was the first time, Ted’s cautionary tale illuminates the depths to which a normal person can sink among the moldy fiberglass and expeditious weirdos of the Salish Sea boating scene. Ted Sweeney is a Race To Alaska (2015) and Seventy48 (2018, 2019) finisher.  He lives in Ballard with a backyard full of paddlecraft and a house full of other young people too Seattle Freeze-y to complain about the backyard full of paddlecraft.
