Born into a family of boatbuilders, architect/builders, artists, and sailors, Tad started drawing boats early.  He became a professional yacht designer in 1984 and in 2001 he opened his studio on Gabriola Island, BC, where he develops modern power and sailboats with strong traditional values. Tad was the 2016 winner of the Wooden Boat Festival Lifetime Achievement Award in Design.
